Wednesday Ratings: Repeats Can’t Topple American Idol

Last night, the networks basically handed over their ratings to FOX.  Although American Idol is normally a sure thing, the show lucked out with a plate of reruns.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10: House of Pain

ANTM logo

During last night’s episode of , the ladies learned some cold hard truths about modeling – and about life, in general.  As we’ve heard time and time again, what goes up must eventually come down.  (Even the prettiest of girls aren’t immune to this problem.)  On the flip side, those already hovering down low could easily vault their way back to the top.

Who found themselves in new positions this week – and who found herself completely naked?  Read on!

This Week on TV (3/24-3/30)

The Hills

(You can view TV Envy’s Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)

MONDAY (3/24)
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30):  The overly-promoted Britney Spears cameo finally airs tonight.  Let’s just be happy the show is only 30-minutes long.
  • Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW, 9pm):  Nicole Scherzinger gives the girls tips on vocal expression.  Sadly, advice on releasing solo albums is not something she can dish out.
  • CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm):  New episode.  “A bride is murdered at her wedding.  The investigation takes the CSIs to a strip club where the bachelor party took place.”  Strip club? This would be the perfect time for another Elizabeth Berkley appearance.
  • The Hills (MTV, 10pm):  Season premiere.  I wonder if LC wore any of her own designs in Paris.  Doubt it.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10: Top Model Takes It to the Streets

ANTM logo

Last night’s episode of really highlighted the varying levels of confidence within that New York City loft.  We had a girl who loved to talk about herself in third person; the girl who studied hard to make herself better; and the girl who wasn’t quite sure if she still belonged in the competition.

This Week on TV (3/17-3/23)

How I Met Your Mother

(You can view TV Envy’s Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)

MONDAY (3/17)
  • Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 8pm):  Tonight’s Season 6 premiere focuses only on the men.  I think it’s safe to say Julianne Hough won’t be making it a three-peat with .
  • The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8pm):  New episode.  “Sheldon and Leonard are asked to a physics conference to present their work together.”  I’ve always wondered - if this show were to air on any other day, would it be half as successful?
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30):  New episode.  “Ted decides to live life like Barney on St. Patrick’s Day.”  You don’t want to know what they use as their lucky charms.
  • Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9pm):  New episode.  “Charlie teaches Alan how to break up with a woman.”  I hear hiring prostitutes can make a woman leave you.
  • The Bachelor (ABC, 9:30):  Season 12 premiere.  “Bachelor Matt Grant, a 27-year-old British financier, meets his 25 would-be soul mates.”  Apparently in America, you can finally afford to woo twice as many women as you can in the UK.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10: Where’s the Beef?

ANTM logo

Yesterday’s episode of ran the gamut of cringe-inducing moments.  We had the girl who thinks she’s so smart but makes idiotic mistakes; the girl who came back from the dead and is now cockier than ever; the free-spirited girl who makes the driven ones feel uncomfortable; and the girl full of potential who doesn’t know how to model.

This Week on TV (3/10-3/16)

The Real Housewives of New York City

(You can view TV Envy’s Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)

MONDAY (3/10)
  • The Bachelor: Where Are They Now? (ABC, 8pm):  “Highlights from past seasons include segments catching up with past bachelors (Andrew Firestone and Aaron Buerge) and former contestants.”  So the whole point of the show is to say there is no point to this show.  Look at how successful it’s been!
  • Canterbury’s Law (FOX, 8pm):  Series premiere.  “Julianna Margulies stars as a maverick defense lawyer who plays by her own rules to help the falsely accused.”  I’m guessing will still be on long after this program goes off the air.
  • New Amsterdam (FOX, 9pm):  Regular day and time.  If you didn’t watch last Tuesday or Thursday, I’m sure you won’t tonight either.
  • October Road (ABC, 9pm):  Special time.  In the season (series?) finale, “Eddie’s ex-girlfriend shows up to reconnect with him, causing problems in his relationship with Janet.”  Since we may never get a satisfactory resolution from this ratings-starved show, let’s just pretend Janet kicks her ass.
